BitterAndDrunk's Journal: Fucking sick of the new Slashdot

What kind of usability moron designed the new layout?
Once you're in a subsection, I can't figure out a way to navigate BACK to the main section.
The obvious choice would be to click either Home, the banner at the top of the page, or the Main heading in Sections, right? Nope. None of those take you back to slashdot.org. . . instead taking you to whatever subdomain you're in.

Profoundly stupid design.

... of how terrible the new slashdot is. A few things you didn't mention:

• Rendering problems (on top of rendering problems, on top of yet more rendering problems)
• Atrocious javascript on the front page that often has to be killed
• Many posting and messaging functions are now more difficult - for example try to list all the journal entries of a user at once (this used to be real simple)
• Even figuring out when your moderator points expire is an exercise in frustration now, as the expiration date doesn't appear c

Aha! Taco journals so seldom that I hadn't even though to look there. His most recent entry [slashdot.org] is from October, where he does indeed state that Pudge is working on something.

At least as of October ... Which is interesting since the shit (craptacular new slashdot code) hit the fan (all of us) somewhere near the end of November, from what I see by looking through old journal entries.

Though you know how dearly I love Pudge. I absolutely won't stand for things being blamed on him...
