Real men aren't driven by revenge (Score:2)
We need Obama's positive strengths to correct the mood of the past decade. It is foolish to ask that he shackle himself to being yet another in the series of supposed leaders who drive the ever expanding punitive cycle. At most ask that he does not place extra obstacles in the place of those with nothing better to do with their lives than to pursue some form of revenge more dramatic than irrelevance. There are much more important charges for him to lead.

ynotds: Prosecuting people who commit crimes is not 'revenge'. If that were true, then police aren't upholding the law, they're just seeking revenge. You're not arguing that police aren't real men because they're seeking revenge, are you? That would be silly.
Focussing only on punishment is destructive, certainly, just as ignoring crime would be. The real solution is a balance between prosecuting crime and moving forward. Justice is necessary to restore faith and trust.
