Journal fussman's Journal: a standard language for communication among tech people 4

During the course of trying to fix a set of machines with a person who was very proficient with them, but knew very little english, it became appearant to me that there needs to be a language (or from here on will be mentioned as a "verbal standard") in which tech people (sysadmins, netadmins, gamers, coders, reverse engineers, etc) can communicate and can accurately describe situations/problems/harware set-ups in a more efficient manner. After looking into the subject in great detail, there existed no language that could accomplish this broad goal without serious modifications. Therefore, some of us sysadmins, netadmins, gamers, coders and reverse engineers (who will be referred to as "geeks" for namesake) need to take it upon ourselves and create a verbal standard that suits the aforementioned needs. I have some ideas on how to go about doing this, but I will need input in order to create a verbal standard that would make sense.

Some of my ideas are:
- a base16 numbering system instead of base10
- a phrase or word that should be said before starting the conversation, for the purpose of not confusing languages or confusing revisions of the standard (I would imagine that there would be some over time, since earlier versions may become inadequate)
- a standard that uses the current ASCII/latin based characters already out there
