I was checking out my bookshelf yesterday before hitting the store, and noticed that I had "Starship Troopers", but hadn't read it yet (I am a late bloomer in the scifi book reading thing). I haven't seen the movie either, which will make the read easier. I think "bug" is the best topic icon for this entry ;-)

  • Skip the movie the book is completely totally 100% different the the movie, and also infinitely better (infinitely because the movie's quality is approximately 1/infinity).

    I like the social structures explained in the book, which aren't in the movie, the ethics classes, which aren't in the movie, the powered armor (or whatever) that isn't in the movie, etc. etc. etc.

    • But there's nudity in the movie!!

      Heh... even if I watch the movie, I assure you it'll be after I read the book.
      I wouldn't desecrate hienlien like that ;-)

      Didn't he also write "Red Planet" (Another movie I haven't seen)?
