I toured the now defunct Science Fiction Museum in Old Town Sacramento once. The tour guide was dressed as a Klingon and showed us a homemade version of the curved Klingon sword (I forget what it is called). he went on and on about how that type of prop would be used in filming and how authentic it was, etcetera. The "prop" was 1" plywood, with no edge, and was spray painted silver;-)
It is sad that I know the name is "Batleth" (there is a ' in there somewhere).
I got the chance to tour the star trek experience way back when it opened; it was incredibly geeky-cool. Sadly I didn't get a chance to sit in Quark's bar though:-(
