Journal twitter's Journal: Survey Says, More Developers Targeting GNU/Linux than Vista 2
PCWorld and others are reporting the results of an April survey of 380 North American developers. It is not surprising that almost half are working on XP projects. It's the number of Vista and GNU/Linux developers that is.
Only 8 percent of 380 developers surveyed by Evans Data Corp. in April are writing applications for Vista, while 49 percent are still writing applications for primarily for the predecessor Windows version , XP. In addition, 11 percent said are applications mostly for Microsoft Office 2003, while 9 percent are focused on Linux-based apps.
You would have missed it if you blinked. The claim is that next year the 9 to 8 percent lead will become 24 to 15 percent in Vista's favor. Other developments, like GM skipping Vista, can change that trend quickly. We are winning now.
Wow (Score:1)
that's a big deal. I wonder why this has not front paged yet?
