Where is the cool? Where is the awesome? I don't see it. Maybe I'm getting older and this is what happens to you you see hype for what it is and you don't see the cool anywhere anymore.

  • The last really cool thing was object-oriented programming. It took me a while to wrap my brain around that when I finally took the plunge, and had to "unlearn", or rather "unassume", some things that I had from doing procedural programming for a long time. But it was *so* worth the effort.

    The next cool thing will be another upheaval/paradigm shift, to some model of programming that, like OOP allowed us to build bigger and more ambitious software and still keep it under control, will allow us to exploit mas

      Oh, I get it... it's because everything is "hot" now. So you don't say things are "cool" anymore. Very insightful. So what is "hot" out there now? Or is everything just getting "hotter"
