Journal Stanley Feinbaum's Journal: blacklist accounts = censorship 4

there are some users on slashdot, such as troll blacklist, and no more trolls, who are trying to institute nazi-style censorship of people's views on slashdot.

they are trying to make you add them as friends and have foes of friends get modded down.

This is not a wise choice because you are letting someone else do the censorship for you, just as the government of nazi germany attepted to censor voices of opposition.

Don't let some rabid slashdot users use nazi style tactics on this site, the only person who should be censoring users is yourself. Have some free will.

blacklist accounts = censorship

  • How is this Nazi based censorship?

We are neither forced to add such accounts as friends, nor, even if we do, are we forced to modify our viewing preferences to automatically mod-down them down.

Some users, perhaps, don't want to have to sift through every troll themselves and would prefer someone else do it for them. What's wrong with that?

Now, of course, you may feel that their choices in who is and is not a troll are inappropriate. In that, you're completely justified in rebel rousing against their cause based on their biased decisions. But to call them "nazis" is just an Argumentum ad Metum...

I find this journal post interesting because of the fact that you have added a troll blacklist as a friend. What's even more halarious is that you are blacklisted by this blacklist which just happens to be your blacklist :-).

    Journalist, eh? riiiiggghhttt...
    • I added it as a friend so people who have "mod up friend of a friend" and are friends with someone who is friends with the blacklist will still be able to see my posts.

But since you are a "freak" of mine, your opinion is invalid.

Without life, Biology itself would be impossible.
