I still have yet to find a Wii in stores (and yes, I check everytime I'm in Fred Meyer or GameStop), so no Wii Sims for me. I may get the DS version, if the reviews are positive. I'm itchin' for a new DS game.
So, what games are you playing now? Last I remember, you were still big on Rayman.
The next big game for me after Bioshock, will be Blue Dragon. And then Eternal Sonata. And then Mass Effect. Good lord, there's a ton of RPGs coming out this holiday season, where will I find the time? XD
Everytime I do my grocery shopping at Fred Meyer, or happen to be near a GameStop, or I'm in Costco, etc., I check the shelves. No luck. *shrug* I also refuse to call around constantly, or wake up early and stand in line.
At this point, Nintendo's lost my money until 2008. There's more than enough games that I want to play on both the 360 and PC, that I won't have time to get a new system and play its games. That's fine.
Ehh, I just checked Costco's website and they don't sell the consoles online. Controllers and games, sure, but no console. As I said before, I don't want to work to get a Wii. Right now, it's not a "must have". But I'm more than willing to make a purchase, on the spur of the moment, if I actually find one in stores. I remember a few months ago, you promised me that this would be the case sometime during the Spring or Summer, but it hasn't actually happened yet.
Well, sadly, Bioshock is PC Win and xBox360 only, isn't it? Look, I've got a Wii, I've got a PS2 (games for that are selling great), I've got an xBox, but I'm not buying a "3rd Gen" Console other than the Wii until after I get HDTV in 2009 when it's cheap.
As in $300 for a 40 inch HDTV decent set.
By that point we'll be on the next gen of consoles anyway, so there's no rush, especially if they want me to pay $50 for a game when it's $40 on the Wii.
Oh, I am thinking about Guitar Hero for the Wii though. That l
If you don't have an HDTV yet, I can see why going to the PS3 or 360 isn't a big deal for you. The games really shine under HD.
As for Guitar Hero, I'm more excited about Rock Band. I played it at PAX yesterday, and it was awesome. Sadly it's not coming to the Wii, but it will be out for the PS2 next year. And on the 360 and PS3 this holiday season.
According to the article, the PC version installs a root-kit, due to the DRM (from SecuROM). As far as I know, this has nothing to do with Sony (or Microsoft, for that matter, since this obviously isn't in the 360 one), but with 2K Games. It'll be interesting to see how Ken Levine handles this revelation. He's apparently already upset over other things that the DRM has done in the PC version.
Hmmm, if you read the comments and the article again, it looks like it doesn't install a Rootkit after all. The original author admits to using "rootkit" in his title, just to generate better results in search engines. Very slimy. Awful, even.
What the software does is still annoying (prevents the DRM from being easily removed), but it's certainly no rootkit. My original comment earlier regarding poorly written DRM still stands though.

Actually, right now it's all Wii Play. Just picked that up to get the third controller.

Gonna be nice when we finally get decent RPGs!
