I've noticed lately that the amount of +5 comments has grown. It isn't as split from +4 as before.

Earlier, a few extremely interesting stories had this problem. Now, many stories do. I've seen a few stories with over twenty +5 comments. That's annoying. I read +5 when I want the best ten or less.

Am I crazy, or has anyone else noticed this?

I got modd'd up to 5 for a quickie breakdown of TCP and how it "creates" reliability from connectionless datagrams.

Which, lets be honest, doesn't deserve more than a 3 or 4 (unless your a professor of mine and you have mod points!)

The gist is that they've pulled some points back because there were too many +5s.
