Reality Master 101's Journal: Bin Laden is Dead

I was pretty sure after that written statement was released recently purporting to be from bin Laden, but this story seals it for me.

So let me get this straight. When bin Laden is needed the most to rally his "troops", combined with the fact that he was never shy about using video in the past to do so, suddenly he's taken to releasing written statements and making audio-only tapes? Not bloody likely.

The dude is dead.

I just think that Al-queda are trying to deceive people, like they usually do. If bin laden was dead, you would have known about that..

It'd be nice if Cartman gets to do some tricks on him first, though.

Well, I have to admit that it's smelling like it's genuine, although their still doing analysis on it.

If I had to guess, I would say that he doesn't want people to know how sick he is, given all the evidence that he has kidney disease and how bad he looked on the last video. He might even be bed-ridden.

Hard to believe the combined might of the US intelligence and military can not catch a 7+ foot sick and feeble arab so it goes after saddam hussein to make the public feel safe.

Well, it's a big country. It probably would have been easier if we went in "soviet style" and just killed everything that moved with no regard to civilians. Unfortunately, he was probably moved by "civilians" and used the "human shield" strategy. The military is more effective at large destruction rather than individual man hunts.

Well, I don't know about anyone else but I'll feel safer without a lunatic sitting on a huge pile of oil actively trying to get biological and nuclear weapons. I don't care whether he has them now or not (I think he probably has biological, but not nuclear), I see this guy as Hitler in the early 1930s. Excise the cancer while we still can, rather than when he starts swallowing countries again.

That's a silly argument. Lots of people have nuclear and biological weapons. A bunch of them are or were lunatics. Deterrence has worked for us just fine since world war two even during the disintegration of the soviet union. If you felt OK when a drunk like yeltsin had his fingers on the button you should feel fine about hussein.

If you want to make yourself feel better take out a sheet of paper and make a list of all the countries in the world that have ever used nuclear weapons in war.

BTW: The closest thing to hitler we have today is Ariel Sharon who also has lots of nuclear weapons.

But an examination of the video tape that came out a few weeks ago showed very abnormal breathing on Bin Laden's part. And he wasn't very animated. It is speculated that he was so badly injured during the Afghanistan attack that his "appearances" have to be very carefully orchestrated, lest people see what frail condition he's in.

I still tend to think he's dead, too, but the above theory would make sense, too.

However, why is it that the audio tapes talk about specific attacks, and the video tapes talk in more general terms? If he is dead, then probably a close relative is making the audio tapes so that it would sound like him.
