That will include a $100 billion request for the wars for the rest of the current fiscal year that ends on September 30 and $145 billion for next year. ...

    Of particular interest is the quote from the 14th Amendment (pph.) "the validity of the public debt shall not be questioned". What business does that have in a legal document in general or, more specifically, in the Constitution of the United States of America (land of the free, home of the brave, home of free speech, etc. etc. etc.)? Shouldn't the politicians be free to debate whatever they wish for however long they wish? Isn't that wh
    • You are bang-on about the debt in 1865.

      The Civil War was a tool for the international super-capitalist class to get their hooks in, as they had done to Europe in Napoleon's wars.

      They had only been called "capitalist" for 21 years at this time, Das Kapital being published in 1844. Marx wasn't on to half the shit.
