[NYT] In Obesity Fight, Many Fear a Note From School

  • This reassures those girls or boys who are prone to eating disorders that thin == doubleplus good, no matter how the child arrived there. I don't know if you've seen the "pro-anorexia" websites, but it's sickening to think of girls and boys of 8 worrying that they're 68 pounds or 65 or 70 lbs. When you're 8, you should just play with your friends, with the biggest worry being which doll to play with, which truck to drive over your other toys, or which blankets and chairs to use when building forts.
