Journal twitter's Journal: Gates at CES: Offering What You Already Have

Google News is pointing to the first CES Keynote reports. Shiny Shiny, has a refreshing and detailed account. San Jose Mercury News is more direct, and BBC is always good.

What emerges is that "Microsoft wants to control your digital lifestyle" by offering a combination of services already offered by others. The key piece is Windows Home Server, which aims to take over your music, photo album, movies, games, automobile and everything. The funny thing is that Amarok, digikam, Myth TV, PS3 and other devices already offer what M$ does but without Zune style DRM which locks down your own content.
