Journal SolemnDragon's Journal: tree 7

We put up the tree last night.

Yay!

The best part is opening all the wrapping off the ornaments and seeing what we've got, because i never remember.

We didn't put all of them on, we mostly did the ones that looked classiest, because we have a smaller tree than last year.

It's purty.

NOW it feels like Christmas.

I was not allowed to get out the ornaments, because they are stored in the studio closet.

Blinder: I'm glad you talked me into getting the coloured lights.

dragon: (up to her elbows in ornaments and paper) Lights! Lights pretty!

blinder: Yeah, all my adult life i've had plain white lights

dragon: NYEAH. You get colours! (throws paper)

cat: I'm scared of paper, knock it off

dragon: Christmas! (throws more paper)

cat: I'm going to kill you all in your sleep

This morning she was under the tree, pretending to be a mighty huntress in the forest. She thinks i couldn't see her. I think it's adorable, the mighty seven pound stalking jungle cat. *snicker* oooooh, big scary tiger!!!!

She loves that game. The tree smells like forest, it confuses the hell out of her every year but she loves it.

  • Lucy eats our tree. It's fake.
    • I actually have a gate around mine... you think your cat is dumb, try having toddlers around a tree! ;)
      • On the plus side, she's stopped licking plastic bags since we put the tree up.
        • i had a cat once who did that. I thought it was a truly bizarre behaviour and couldn't figure out why she would do it.

And here I thought my love life was enough to prove that! ;-)

My roomie's cat hasn't paid any attention to the tree. But then he mostly only pays attention to anything that will A) pet him or B) feed him.

I'm about ready to put something nasty tasting on our fake tree to keep our cat from chewing on it. Poor nitwit, I think she needs some greens in her diet....
          • There's an obscene amount of Boundary cat repellent sprayed on the tree. I guess she thinks it's tasty.

My roommate also bought some cat vitamin supplement stuff in case there's some nutritional deficiency that's causing her to eat plastic. So far it's not helping.
