Journal kingOFgEEEks's Journal: Solution to P2P for RIAA

and the artists who are (mis)represented by it:

1. Lower the price of music.

Reasoning: Simple economics.

2. Give the artists a higher percentage of the album price.

Reasoning: If the artists are making more per song, then maybe the pop princes and princesses will start actually making listenable music. Also, the GOOD artists out there will be able to afford rehab costs, keeping them alive longer.

3. Let the public know that you are paying the artists more.

Reasoning: Nobody likes to support the evil empire, but they are willing to support the artists they like.

4. Put up with a little illegal file sharing.

Reasoning: Free advertising.

I believe if the RIAA does the above, they will actually make more money, and the artists certainly will make more money. There are more actions that could be taken (an actually useable pay service for music d/l-ing) but we don't want the RIAA to go too far now, do we?
