Journal Technomouse's Journal: Are Valve losing the piracy war ? 2

I want to tell you all about how incompetent Valve really are. I purchased Half Life 2 game of the year edition from Amazon. And i received it one week ago. When i installed it asked me to put the CD key in and then Steam told me it was already registered to another account??

Now this is a new game brought brand new from Amazon i have e mailed Valve and as yet have got no response have any of you have this problem and if is how did you solve short of no CD/Steam hack on the game which i own legally??

Are Valve really supplying games with CD keys that have already been hacked and used ?

and should i just give up and stop buying games

  • This is why I pirate all my games, because unlike most software releases, somebody has put the package you're downloading throught its paces to make sure it works.

I buy all the games I want, but most of them end up sitting in their cases unused. Granted, you need broadband to make this an effective strategy, but most gamers have that covered, right?
  • people have to buy game to keeps the industry working and if the industry does not keep up and end up pissing off the few people who like me still will then the sheer amount of lost revenue will kill the smaller indie houses
