  • I just saw that story. The first thought in my mind? This explains a lot of people I have the misfortune of dealing with.
    • Ah, Slashdot. Where everyone's a rugged individualist, whip smart, and an IT god.

      No wonder this place collapsed, burdened as it was it was by the greatest ego load known to mankind.
      • Not to be stereotypical, but every beta male geek wishes they were an alpha male. And since they aren't, they overcompensate and project it online in the feeble hopes that no one will know that they're posting in their panties in their mother's basement.

        Take d_r, for example -- classic case of a beta who wants to be the smartest person in the room and is completely oblivious to the fact that he's actually quite dumb and a colossal asshole on top of it.

        I LOVE THAT GUY.
