BrenBren's Journal: I'm not complaining

I'm not complaining, but I've somehow managed to get 15 Moderator points over the last two months, but I haven't *done* anything... I haven't Meta-Moderated, I haven't been terribly active posting... I've just read Journal Entries and the occasional front page story.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I just thought I'd share.

What are "moderator points"?

I haven't had mod points for years. The last time I can recall getting mod points was around the time of the great HOF run of '03 [slashdot.org]...

No, I was sharing. If I were rubbing it in, I would have added something childish, like "...so obviously Slashdot likes me more than YOU! :P"

Honestly, I have no idea how moderator points are awarded. I haven't done anything to warrant getting them. A friend of mine says he did meta-moderating religiously for months, and thought himself lucky to get points once a month or so.

I'm certain I'll run up against a long patch, where I get no points at all.
