Journal BrenBren's Journal: Meme from Helicobacter 4

Helicobacter has a meme that Shadow Wrought brought to my attention. Here's what happened on my birthday:

Some events:
* 1610 - Henry Hudson sails into what it is now known as Hudson Bay, thinking he had made it through the Northwest Passage and reached the Pacific Ocean.

* 1776 - Delegates to the Continental Congress begin signing the United States Declaration of Independence.

* 1990 - Iraq invades Kuwait, eventually leading to the Gulf War.

A couple births:
* 1905 - Myrna Loy, American actress (d. 1993)

* 1924 - Carroll O'Connor, American actor (d. 2001)

A death:
* 1998 - Shari Lewis, American puppeteer (b. 1933)

    A true visionary. If he had waited 4 centuries, he could have made it. While its still frozen 11 months of the year, the "open season" is rapidly lenghtening, thanks to global warming.

    • Are you any relation? I realize that there are quite a few Hudson's out there, but it would be cool if he was in your lineage. A friend of mine is related to Admiral Nelson of Trafalgar fame. His family tree on his mom's side goes out something like 4 or 5 generations and then just piddles out. His father's side though has this whole elaborate structure about 5 times as big as mom's side and leads all the way to Nelson. Where it then stops. ;-)

It is easier to write an incorrect program than understand a correct one.
