Journal MacBrave's Journal: What a weekend: Retreats, Acid, and allergies 1
I'm glad these weekend come around every once in a while.
Our oldest son (age 14, let's call him 'E') was at a retreat staring Friday morning until late afternoon. The retreat location is approx. 60 miles from our house. My wife and I made the trip back and forth twice, once on Saturday evening then on Sunday for the closing ceremony and to bring him home. Talk about a lot of driving....
Saturday afternoon our youngest son (age 2, let's call him 'L') somehow got the toilet bowl cleaner down off the top shelf in our laundry room, discovered how to open it, the preceeded to squirt it all over the room and himself. He off course started to scream when the burning set in. Rhonda and I quickly got his clothes off and put him the bathtub. I started poring water all over him while she called poison control. L had a section on his lower left leg that was already turning bright red, like a bad sunburn. After about 45 minutes in the bathtub the redness had started to fade and he was no longer crying from the burning. He was lucky none got in his eyes or mouth.
So Sunday morning after church it's off to Lowe's to look for a lockable cabinet. Found a decent one that will do the job.
Where do the allergies come into this? Well last night (Sunday) at about 9pm Rhonda gets hit with a bad allergy attack. She has gotten these before, the symptons include both of her eyes swelling shut, bad itching/hives on her hands, feet and sometime torso, and her throat become constricted, all happening in about 15-30 minutes. This time she was able to use her epi-pen so we avoided a trip to emergency room, but it was touch and go for a little while. Her allergist has ruled out a food based allergy, so it is something airborne, but discovering exactly what it is seems impossible.
So, how was everyone else's weekend?
My weekend was nice, thank you (Score:2)
