Journal LeonGeeste's Journal: Attention: people about to mod me down on IP issues

I know you disagree with me on IP issues. But I'm just stating facts, such as 1) IP laws promote production of intellectual works; 2) getting rid of or substantially diminishing IP laws, in the absence of clear alternate profit mechanism, will discourage productiong of intellectual works; and 3) filesharing is generally illegal. I know you want to mod me down. But before you mod me down, find something actually worthy of modding down. Don't mod me down merely because you don't like what I have to say. That's really immature.

And listen: I'm not the enemy here. I'm actually working on a paper demonstrating an alternate profit mechanism for intellectual works that doesn't involve IP laws! I'm trying to explain how we could do without them, something most Slashdotters don't seem to have figured out. Look for my paper on mises.org soon. Until that paper has received a good vetting from the public, unless you can propose a viable way to compensate content producers without IP laws, you shouldn't be modding me down. On the other hand, if you do know one, say it, don't mod me. Thank you.
