Just storing anoter one of my .sigs for evidence when the feds drag me off to the camps.

Work Harder! A Few Corporations Receive Millions in Welfare and Are Depending On You!

I replaced it with the following shocking statistic:

94% of Republicans voted to renew the Patriot Act in 2005

(I hope the math is right. 214 votes for the act / 231 total votes = 94% ).

  • My wife and I just watched it a few weeks ago. We were going to see it when it came out, but we were never quite in the mood to be angered and depressed by a movie, which we knew we would be. I already knew a lot about the history of the corporation and the problems it has caused. Then we got it through Net Flicks and then held onto it for a month because we were never quite in the mood to be angered and depressed by a movie. Finally we watched it and were angered and depressed, but it is a great movie alth
    • I've been avoiding the movie for the same reasons :)

Life is hard enough already. A movie can provide a good escape.
    • Does anybody remember when corps were for pooling money to invest in better things. It's like the exact opposite of today. At least some of them are still good. Or at least not bad.
Actually I think it might be fore the associations of companies and corps that are bad. I'm still waiting for an associations of associations, the AOAIA.
Have any of you seen/read Animal Farm. We all know 1984 but AF is less quoted.
  • Sad, true, but certainly no shock - any living entity will always act in what it believes is the best interest of its continued existence and growth: In this case, the entity is our nation's government. I wonder how many Democrats or for real interest, Libertarians/Other, voted for that same extension...?

    For reference, plz see here:

    • Well, sadly there are no Libertarians or Greens in Congress.

The would-be Libertarians usually walk Lock-step with the Republicans, and Greens are too busy fighting with themselves.

43 Democrats voted for the Extension, out of 202 total Democrats in the House. That's 21% of Democrats. Compare that to the 94% of Republicans who voted for the measure.

The one lone independant in the House is Barney Frank, and he obviously voted for our freedoms. (Is there another Independant? I forget).
