Journal webhat's Journal: Scandalous 2
As you might know I am staying in Zürich, I was on the tram 2 today, with my GF, from my house into town. When we got off my GF noticed her bag was missing. We waited for about 15 minutes for the tram to come back so we could check if the bag had been found and given to the driver, sadly it wasn't on the tram.
Naturally all the while I was calling her cell phone. Finally somebody answered the phone after 15 minutes and it had been handed in at the ticket office.
We walked the 2 minutes to the ticket office and found the guy who handed it in and thanked him, then we went to get it from the counter. We asked for the bag and had to prove that the bag was hers - which wasn't hard - then for the whole 10 minutes of protecting the bag they charged us 25 Swiss Franks, which at the current exchange rate is about 25 US dollars.
25 DOLLARS TO GET BACK WHAT WAS ALREADY HERS AND WHICH THEY HAD HAD FOR 10 MINUTES!!!
We paid it and bought the guy who originally found it a coffee and offered a reward, which he declined.

I'm even surprised they charge for found articles. I thought it was a free service. You could at least have bought a beer for the finder. I would have been more happy with a beer than with a 5euro bill ;-)
