shadowspark's Journal: In case I am seriously injured...

and cannot type, I thought I should at least document my adventure in Airsoft play.

This Sunday a group of people from work have decided to visit: Extreme Tactics. Not sure what weapon I will choose. The shotgun sounds interesting, but I'd rather snipe from far than take return fire (from an opposing shotgun). Way different from Paintball [which I'm used to and have played many times with my own custom built spyder]. I just have bad feeling I will be shot on my hand.

Anyone else out there ever play Airsoft?

Now that sounds friggin cool.... So I wonder who you play against? Do they have staff members that pose as the op-force? Or is your team split into two and you play it once each way?

I believe our group of 20 (5 from my workplace) will be split into two groups. However I do know the place has lots of regulars that may join us. If it's anything like paintball it'll be capture the flag scenarios and group elimination scenarios.

There is an HK mp5 available and you are thinking about using something else? Come on now. And if that shotgun is a pump- forget it. I'd go with one of the others as I assume they are all autoloaders.

I'm curious to hear how you think it compares to paint ball. I think paint ball is an awesome rush-- I have not played air soft since it seems like they wouldn't carry much punch.

Depends on the type of game played. Speedball paintball is great, but the people I play with like playing forest paintball which to me is a bore. Additionally, I hate the ticks that follow you out of the forest.

I'll have to evaluate airsoft after I play. I stopped playing paintball when costs became prohibitive and my time was limited.

or dual glocks (aside: why **For experienced players only, at staff's discretion.** on the glock?. I wonder if there's a chaingun or a rocket launcher hidden on the map anywhere? Just don't camp the spawn points...

I think the reason why they want experienced players is that the kids/noobs try to be all G-style and movie star hero like and drop the magazine holders while shooting the guns sideways. Not sure if there's a chain gun or anything, but I will be looking for health packs and the quad damage powerup though. :)

What, that's not a good idea? Next you'll be telling me there's no time dilation [rockstargames.com] in airsoft either.
