Ask Slashdot:PGP Keys

David Poole writes " I've started playing with PGP (5.0) under Linux. However, almost all public keys I see posted are for PGP 2.6.2 so I'm hesitant to post my 5.0 public keys. Knowing nearly zip-burp about PGP and encryption as a whole, I'm now wondering which version do folks prefer to use and why? Is the use of 2.6.2 rather than 5.0 something about PhilZ going commercial with PGP? (Commercial PGP 5.x supports key escrow, aka "key recovery"--shudder.)"
