Submission + - Is Adobe spying on CS3 users?-> 2 2

henrypijames writes: For months, users of Adobe Creative Suite 3 have been wondering why some of the applications regularly connect to 192.168.112.2o7.net which looks a lot like a private IP address but is actually a public domain address belonging to the web analytics company Omniture. Now allegations of user spying are getting louder, prompting Adobe Photoshop product manager John Nack to respond, though many remain unsatisfied with his explanation.

Submission + - Put Linux on an Indy 500 car!

Mark K writes: How would you like to tune into the Indy 500 and see the Linux penguin prominently displayed on a car. The Tux 500 project was started to raise enough money to sponsor an Indy 500 car this year in the name of Linux. If $25,000 is raised they will be an associate sponsor of the car, if they reach $350,000 then the whole car will have Linux all over it. The amount of visibility depends on the money raised. Overnight they passed $6000 and there is some good rivalry between the different distributions on the stats page. There is also a contest to determine a design for the car.

Submission + - Lethal Machine Gun Wielding Robot

mpthompson writes: "Samsung has partnered with a Korean university to develop a robotic sentry equipped with a 5.5mm machine gun. Meant for deployment along the DMZ between North and South Korea the $200,000 robot employs sophisticated pattern recognition software for targeting humans. No three laws here, but the robot does include a speaker that can be used to politely issue a warning before taking the target out. The promotional video is both scary and funny at the same time."
