On the surface it appears to be the case but I think it could swing back the other way. Bricks and mortar shopping is an experience which people enjoy. What are we to look forward to? Living in isolation where everything simply arrives at our door is not a very appealing thought. The "village" atmosphere has appeal even if they are now shopping centres.

Buying cheap is not reserved to United Sates. We here in Australia are excellent bargain hunters. And China plays the role in satisfying all our cheap buying habits. But let's face it- we all like cheap. Off the subject a bit-- if the Iphone was not manufactured in China but in the U.S. then how much would we expect to pay for it today? It's an interesting question concerning the cheapness of quality items.

There is nothing to say that every civilisation has a technological sunset clause inbuilt. There is also nothing to say that we will run out of natural resources capable of sustaining our existence. There is nothing to say that intelligent life trends to extinction. Drakes equation is simply one way of looking at the subject. The subject of intelligent life in the universe will remain a mystery whilst we are using any of the current ways of thinking. We are relying on one thing and one thing alone------discovery! Until this happens and how it will happen is unpredictable, we simply must wait. Hasn't this been the way of things since the start of our technological journey. Discovery is unpredictable, serendipitous and a phenomenon all of its own. This is where I personally look for the intelligence or god entity of our universe. I am not so smug in my intelligence to rule out any possibilities when it comes to the reality of intelligent life. I am open and humble in my thoughts.

So story is-- we will keep filling the world with obsolete PC's just sitting there or here capable of working but growing little annoyances. I have found through all my years that old operating systems fail at something at just the right time-- usually something small like not doing wireless as is the case with XP on both my clunkers. Somewhere along the line of service packs the wireless networking functionality on XP became corrupted on many older machines ( Ok on wired connections though). So being that they are unsupported the problem remains. A small annoyance to home users but enough to want an upgrade of course naturally

My addiction caught up with me yet again. Yep. Games addiction. I managed to drop the bad- for -your- health stuff but am still addicted to video games. So when I see a game rated unanimously as near 100% great, well I just have to go buy it no matter I have no money at the time. And because it crashed I even consider buying a new computer just to run the bloody thing on if the problem is on my aged beast. Just shows how addicted I am. Oh well- it won't send me broke- I'm already broke- and I w
