Apparently, BD 2.0 discs will not play on current hardware, and only the PS3 might be upgradeable to 2.0. The explanation for putting out an incomplete standard? "We should have waited another year to introduce Blu-ray to the public, but the format war changed the situation"
wfberg writes: The US Department of Commerce has had 1138 (out of 30,000 laptops gone missing since 2001. 107 were encrypted, so more than a thousand only had the easily circumvented OS password on them. 249 contained Personally Identifiable Information. Kudos to the DoC for owning up to the missing devices.
