Interesting- thanks for taking the time to increase my knowledge. Perhaps I've had just enough information to make me worry about it and not enough to know better. I wonder if this is also the case with other prion thoughts- It's not the only reason that I avoid meat, but the thought really does bother me that, given (what I understand to be) the US's lousy meat inspection and meat industry practices (like feeding downed animals to healthy ones), there's a possibility that livestock nationwide could get silently infected with prions that cause CJD or something like that and get distributed across and eaten by a large portion of the population before anyone realized anything was wrong. Suddenly people's brains everywhere start going haywire. Is that possible? Unlikely?

Apple Releases Bonjour for Windows 1.0.3 195

MacDailyNews is reporting that Apple has released Bonjour for Windows 1.0.3. From the article: "Bonjour, also known as zero-configuration networking, enables automatic discovery of computers, devices, and services on IP networks. Bonjour uses industry standard IP protocols to allow devices to automatically discover each other without the need to enter IP addresses or configure DNS servers."
