+ - Nokia buys Symbian, set to release source code->

tyldis (712367) writes "Nokia has announced that it is acquiring Symbian and upon completion a Symbian Foundation will be created. The members of this foundation is expected to be most major manufacturers in the handset market, including Sony Ericsson and Motorola. The source code for Symbian OS and the respective GUIs will be provided under the Eclipse Public License (EPL) 1.0."
