takad (1946206) writes "When I studied the logistics of running DNS, I realized that the limits on it were artificially imposed in order to limit supply and facilitate control. The central database and “whois” records are all controlled by Network Solutions, Inc., who is a subsidiary of SAIC (Science Applications International Corp.), the largest private contractor for the US National Security Agency and the Pentagon. Most of the top corporate officers are former US military personnel who have retired from service and are engaged in “private practice”, including former NSA Chief, Bobby Inman, current Director on the Board, putting their militarily-acquired skills to work for profit.
In effect, when one registers and pays Network Solutions for a domain name, they are also paying to maintain surveillance on themselves. Ask yourself. Is this what you want? Does it make you feel comfortable?

+ - Moore's End and The Future of Computing 2

Submitted by

Bartosz writes "Herb Sutter wrote another essay, Welcome to the Jungle, in which he shares his vision of the future of computing. The Moore's Law is at the end of its applicability (this time for real) and we have to think about what's next. Multicore and hybrid processors are here to stay, but the real revolution is in the cloud. As Herb says, "The cloud wave is already scaling enormously quickly — faster than the Moore's Law wave that it complements." The future of programming is in writing applications that will smoothly combine the local with the distributed, the micro-optimized with the macro-optimized."

IT gave me admin rights on the box }:-D Well I take that seriously, its a privilege and a headache. I realized that through my own action or inaction I could make our network more vulnerable. So after consulting with IT and making sure I was locked down as secure as everything they would normally deploy, I began thinking about the sites I visit on a regular basis and if they had mal ware issues associated with them.

I quickly found http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=

and then adding the site you can see what google thinks about the site — well I wonder if Google knows how they fair by their own diagnostic systems."

Evolution doesn't necessary move forward!. In a time where 3D Dominates and Immersive virtual Worlds manifest ; we still see 16-bit 2D "SDL" LowRes Game Consoles Emerges! Or it's just the proof that Evolution is a continuum, and wherever there is a potential or Innovation isn't Fully Exploited, There would still be Evolution to happen. Or this maybe a message: "Don't mess with us Businessmen, Escaping Forward, will soon drag you backward" Or I'm just taking things too seriously!
