I really started using github regularly at the same time that I started using github.
It's grown to so much more than the underlying version control software.

It all depends on your point of view. Making and selling mobile apps could be a lot more than a hobby.
Contributing to a FOSS project - is that a hobby? I'd say the number of hours a week put in determine that.
I got to sit and have a long conversation once with Louise Solheim. Her husband was Karsten Solheim. He had passed away by the time we met, but she told my wife and I the story of how he started his business and transitioned from being an engineer to selling golf clubs. A lot of what he did for a very long time could easily be described as a hobby - but it became an incredibly profitable business over time.
write apps, contribute to open projects, write a book and or books, volunteer with a non-profit. Or read reddit a lot and play starcraft or something. So many possibilities.
I have a little project this summer that I am building on top of CiviCRM running on Drupal. Our organization uses CAS for single sign on. And it's nice on the account of there is an easy to install and configure Drupal CAS module that just drops in oh so pretty.
I set up the site I'll be using to work on the project and I installed Drupal, installed CiviCRM and then I inst
I'm looking forward to getting to 4.
The other night I watched the episode with the model train set, the Japanese businessmen, the mole and the jet pack. I was laughing so hard I had to stop it for a bit.
Very funny.
I have the oddest thing going on. Youtube videos that I play in Chrome on my Fedora box give the people high pitched voices. If I switch to Firefox on the same machine it is fine. So strange. I don't know if things are slightly sped up or what. Right now I just watch youtube videos in Firefox. I think vimeo or other sites work fine.
The idea that they release everything in one big blob is also interesting. I would have no problem if they stretched it out over time. But I'm curious how this works out as when I do play catch up with certain shows I do end up doing it all in one go.
No they aren't. With charging kiosks in malls and such, like these or these I would say that they are pretty common.
There are 3 Netflix generated series that I know of - Lilyhammer, House of Cards and the 4th season of Arrested Development.
Lillyhammer looked a little interesting to me but I never got around to watching it. From what I saw it looked like it would get violent and that meant I'd be watching alone and I had other stuff I wanted to see with that time. Breaking Bad being the main thing. I only have so much free time for shows and even less for stuff on my own.
Annnd... there's a beach ball on the field.......
one of my favorite scenes.
I don't care what sport it is - when contracts worth millions of dollars are on the line, there will always be talented people willing to do whatever they have to in order to stay competitive and even excel.
This is about baseball and feel free to read or ignore accordingly.
My son plays on a little league team. This year we started using the software associated with GameChanger.io And I have to say that it is really slick.
I should start with an admission that I never learned to score baseball games. I don't know what little things to write in the little boxes and other than K for strike I don't know what it all means. Of course
yeah - I pretty much always go to Amazon through a vpn. So that explains it. Stupid.
When a lot of Penguins are all together in one place does it stink? I would think it does but I've never had a chance to find out.
Thanks. I appreciate it.
If you enjoy reading and want to take a stab at it yourself, it's a lot of fun. And while I bought this book - if you are willing to write reviews a lot of publishers are happy to send you books for free. Something I learned when I commented on a book review here at Slashdot a few years back.
I guess lots of people want the free books but they have a harder time finding folks who will follow through on the review part.
