Submission + - Microsoft To Buy Digg

illegalalias writes: "Microsoft has agreed to buy Digg.com

According to the following draft press release that is supposed to go out on tomorrow, Microsoft has reached an agreement to acquire Digg, Inc.

REDMOND, Wash. — April 2nd, 2007 — Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Digg, Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

The deal has been in the works for several weeks, according to Microsoft spokesman Mario Nette, who noted that, "Digg is a pioneer in crowd sourcing, the Web 2.0 way of discovering what is important to a new generation of technology-friendly consumers. The Digg community is our natural consumer base and this acquisition is a great opportunity to connect with them. Digg users are passionate about Microsoft products and we are anxious to engage them through this new channel."

Submission + - Apple Unveils New Unveiling Product

eldavojohn writes: "Steve Jobs unveiled the new iLaunch product on Tuesday to a crowd of journalists and Apple fans. What was most impressive for this launch is that the iLaunch itself had generated the very presentation that Jobs was delivering. Clearly this technology is the way forward, I absolutely must have one. From the article, "Get ready for the future of product introduction," said Jobs, looking resplendent in a black turtleneck and faded jeans. "The iLaunch will be able to make announcements from this, or any other stage, making human participation in generating consumer awareness almost entirely unnecessary." And, of course, shortly after Jobs' address, Microsoft announced that they are working on a similar product to kill the iLaunch — the Launch-O, due to debut in 2009."
It's funny. Laugh.
