Having had a grandfather that worked for the USPS, I do have a fond place in heart for the service. With that said, hasn't the reality of e-mail and online bill pay services negated much of the use of non-parcel and non-bulk mail traffic? Maybe raise the rate on bulk mail to further reduce the work load, because it does seem like a money loser and stay competitive with the parcel's. The only website that I found actual numbers on was at Shipwire.com. First class is on a strong downward trend and will not recover. It is time to consolidate.

Speaking as a director and as a continuing desk diver, I agree with the "Contractor wear" top thread, but keep a pair a jeans in a drawer in your office/cubicle, just in case. ...and congrats on the promotion.

Possibly the importance of the education and socialization is its relationship to a structured environment - read "corporate environment." Those who excel at both, the grades and the popularity, usually end up being our corporate business management. It is not the oversight that is important, but the practice.
