Former SECDEF Gates:

In a new memoir, former defense secretary Robert Gates unleashes harsh judgments about President Obama's leadership and his commitment to the Afghanistan war, writing that by early 2010 he had concluded the president "doesn't believe in his own strategy, and doesn't consider the war to be his. For him, it's all about getting out."

Gates is clearly in error here. President Obama has given Afghanistan, the war for which he campaigned in 2008, precisely the same amount of attention he has given the Affordable Care Act, Benghazi, the economy, and, well, everything else. So it's completely off-base of Gates to seem shocked that Afghanistan was any more phoned-in than the rest of this Administration.
But, hey: we elected him.
