  Amazon's HaaS (Hardware as a Service) - vs Sun?[->] 2007-10-29 01:40 sioux_chance

With S3 and EC2, Amazon tends to price hardware consumption as a service and as fairly as possible. Read/WriteWeb calls this Hardware as a Service (HaaS) and suggests that this is very similar to Google's AdSense; because one fragmentizes Revenues side of the web business, while the other one fragmentizes the Costs side. Is that gonna be the end of traditional virtual/dedicated hosting services, will we see JAVA ticker in Related Companies field of AMZN, will Amazon really succeed disrupt the hardware business?
