+ - Paizo releases Pathfinder RPG PDF [OGL]->

Submitted by ruemere
ruemere (1148095) writes "Paizo, a renowned third party publisher of Open Game License [OGL] products, releases PDF version of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook [PFRPG] in the wake of official premiere of game's print edition.
The digital version of the product sets landmark for PDF RPG publishing industry with quality of its content, price of $9.99 and page count of 576.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game has introduced into RPG market notion of large scale open beta test (with freely available professionally edited alpha and beta versions) involving, according tu publisher's release, more than 50000 gamers.
Pathfinder RPG builds upon the core of OGL material of d20 system striving to maintain compatibility with 3.5 version of d20 ruleset while fixing problems of 3.5 version of d20 ruleset, thus preserving usability of hundreds of OGL products released since 2000 while enhancing playability and providing license scheme for other publishers (commentary by mxyzplk). It is also widely regarded as chief competitor of Wizards of the Coast's current flagship release of the d20 rules, 4E, due to change of product licensing scheme (commentary by mxyzplk) and delay in delivery of new license, known now as Game System License [GSL]."
