+ - Mastercoin: A Second-Generation Protocol on the Bitcoin Blockchain-> 1

Submitted by xeniar
xeniar (2910615) writes "Alternative currencies have become a popular topic in the Bitcoin space. We have Litecoin and Primecoin introducing alternative mining algorithms with novel properties, PPCoin replacing mining entirely with a non-costly alternative, Ripple creating a cryptocurrency network that can store credit relationships and user-defined currencies, and over seventy more up and running with new ones being created every week. One particularly interesting project that has received a large amount of attention over recent months, however, is Mastercoin. The key difference in Mastercoin is this: rather than trying to bootstrap an entirely new blockchain, as every other cryptocurrency does, Mastercoin seeks to create an entirely new network of currencies, commodities and securities on top of Bitcoin itself."

I had a masters degree and 6 years of tech experience in the Israeli Defense Force, and I thought I was god's gift to tech companies. Being rejected by Google fixed my arrogance for me. Working with some excellent people at another startup also helped me show some humility.

Postmortem - I reapplied to Google after 3 years, got hired, and subsequently resigned after 5 months. They're a great company, just wasn't what I was looking for.

+ - Which Code Analysis Toot for C# Should We Use?

ripper234 writes "We are looking to integrated automated code/static analysis in our daily build. Our codebase is both in C# and Java, but my main focus here is to find a good tool for C# (supporting Java is a plus). I Googled it but failed to find a good comparison of static code analysis tools. The tools I found are: We have a medium-sized Visual Studio 2005 solution containing 50 projects. Our main usage here is not "online" code analysis (like Resharper already provides), but a deep analysis to be run daily. As a note, we will be migrating to Visual Studio 2008 very soon, if that has any relevancy to the answer."
