Submission + - New Study: Diebold Voting Machine Vulnerability

richg74 writes: "Professor Ed Felten, of Princeton University, has noted in his blog the release of a new paper that he authored, together with Ariel Feldman and J. Alex Halderman, which examines the security of a Diebold AccuVote-TS voting machine. From the abstract:
This paper presents a fully independent security study of a Diebold AccuVote-TS voting machine, including its hardware and software. We obtained the machine from a private party. Analysis of the machine, in light of real election procedures, shows that it is vulnerable to extremely serious attacks.
The University's Web site has a copy of the full paper, as well as a video demonstrating the attacks."
