+ - Mike Myers film: "How to Survive a Robot Upris

Submitted by qohen
qohen (104310) writes "The New York Times reports that Mike Myers (of SNL, Austin Powers, etc.) is looking to star in the movie adaptation of "How to Survive a Robot Uprising" to the silver screen. The book is written by Daniel H. Wilson, who earned his PhD in robotics from Carnegie Mellon University.

From the New York Times article, The New York Times:

Mike De Luca, who approved "Austin Powers" while president of production at New Line Cinema, is producing the third and perhaps most tentative of the current Myers projects. Titled "How to Survive a Robot Uprising," it is an adaptation of an obscure tongue-in-cheek survival guide by Daniel H. Wilson, who wrote it while a Ph.D. candidate at Carnegie Mellon's Robotics Institute.

(Note: a story about this movie appeared on Slashdot previously but apparently Myers wasn't involved until later. Clearly, Mike Myers' experience doing Austin Powers, with its nefarious fembots, will allow him to bring a unique perspective to this role...)."
