RIAA Can't Have Defendant's Son's Desktop 283 283

NewYorkCountryLawyer writes "The RIAA's attempt to get Ms. Lindor's son's desktop computer in UMG v. Lindor has been rejected by the Magistrate Judge. The judge said that the RIAA 'offered little more than speculation to support their request for an inspection of Mr. Raymond's desktop computer, based on ... his family relationship to the defendant, the proximity of his house to the defendant's house, and his determined defense of his mother in this case. That is not enough. On the record before me, plaintiffs have provided scant basis to authorize an inspection of Mr. Raymond's desktop computer.' Decision by Magistrate Judge Robert M. Levy. (pdf)"

New Apple Bootcamp Released 106 106

eebra82 writes "Apple just updated their Bootcamp website with the release of Bootcamp 1.1 beta. It adds extended hardware support, including the ability to install XP on any internal disk, built-in iSight camera support, built-in microphone, right clicks with Apple key, more keyboard buttons such as Delete, NumLock, PrintScreen and ScrollLock. Numerous annoyances are no more thanks to motherboard updates, too. This release is 200 MB or so over the previous 90 MB install, which is due to heavier driver support such as included Nvidia video drivers."

Journal Journal: Slashdot does Not heart Opera or "/. /= 3 O"

So I download the new Opera release. Anyone who's been keeping up with the weeklies knows it's unpolished, but it's unpolished for Opera... so it's hardly unusable.

Then I come here to Slashdot. What things do I notice?
1. The menus on the left don't minimise unless I mask as another browser. Really Slashdot, blocking features to a browser even though it works just fine?

Journal Journal: Signatures

I now know that the sig makes the woman. If your signature is uninteresting, your comments are far less likely to be modded up. So please, think before you sig.
