The Phantom Guide to Healthness

(This is something I've been thinking lately, if you have any comments, I'd love to hear them)

It has been my experience that our bodies need nutrients in the following order:

1. Simple Carbohydrates. Your body needs immediate energy to keep you moving and stuff, and if you don't have enough, you will feel weak, hungry, and maybe even a bit shaky. At this stage you can probably eat a candy bar and feel better. I suggest kit-kats, but follow your instincts.

2. Fat. Don't ask me why this is second, but man, if you don't have enough fat, you will be feeling it. In extreme cases you will see the slice of fat on the side of your steak and crave it; maybe your neighbor's too. In lesser cases bacon and cheese will feel really good. Notice I said feel, and not taste. It is important you always go by feeling and not taste, otherwise you'll probably only stay in level one.

3. Complex carbohydrates. Things like bread, noodles, pasta, cereal, oatmeal....at this stage you will probably just feel really hungry and want to eat a lot. By the way, in the previous stage, a lot of times you will also feel a craving for things with vitamin C. Don't ask me why, it's just the way it is.

4. Protein. This is a dangerous stage because at first you will just feel hungry, and so you will keep eating a lot, but you will not feel satisfied, so you will try to eat more. If that happens, you need to find what nutrient your body needs and eat it, otherwise you will eat the wrong thing and just gain weight.

5. Broccoli. Not sure how to describe this one, but shortly after the protein stage, you may feel kind of dirty until you get some broccoli. I assume other vegetables can be substituted, but I haven't ever really tried.

Then you start over again. These seems to be the general nutritional states people move through, at least me. Also, at random times you may feel a desire to eat fruit. This is a good thing because fruits taste good and has fiber.

About Exercise (my theory):
The food you eat is part good and part bad. Your kidneys do a pretty decent job of getting rid of the bad stuff, but sometimes they need a little help. Every once in a while, if you feel junky, you might want to exercise a bit. You don't have to do it every day, just when you feel that way. It will help purge the garbage from your system. You will feel better. I promise.

Do you get tired of being around people who leak memory like this (if this stumps you, stop reading)?

int i;
void *p;
for ( i = 0; i < 100; ++i )
{
                p = malloc(4096);
}
