  • Haven't been paying so much attention for, oh, the last two years, huh?
    • Oh I have heard winging about it before, but never seen such blatant down moderation. However I don't normally read at -1 so maybe this thing goes on more often than I realise.
      • Slashdot is a commercial enterprise now. They try to create "value" be providing a technically inclined user base to advertisers.

        However, the technically inclined user base doesn't always play nice with advertisers. Microsoft, for example, funds this sites "development", such as it is, but much of the proliteriate hates Microsoft.

        Resolution? Try to shut up anybody who is a "troll" that might chase off advertisers b encouraging users to mod them down, introducting the bitchslap script, and providing editors

  • But Fonzie is strapping on the water skis. It's hard to see how it's going to get better without a change of management.
