Comment Re:signed kernel modules would be good for apple t (Score 0, Flamebait) 222

Better for Apple = Worse for consumer. Let's face it: after what they've done to the Mac experience in the last couple of years, Apple (cough, Computer) is more interested in selling iPods and other crap then keeping the Mac user friendly and intuitive. Signing execs and modules would only allow the engineers to let the Apple Gestapo lock down their OS rather than intuitively fixing the problem.

Submission + - First impressive OSS calendaring system (mozilla.org)

omaha_boy writes: Since the Lightning add-on became available for Mozilla's Thunderbird e-mail communications suite, users have been taking advantage of this blossoming integrated calendaring system. People who hate the bloat of Outlook have been waiting for years for an OSS project that can seriously compete with the current czar of the groupware world. For the causal e-mail/calendar users it looks like Mozilla is beginning to deliver something special in the 0.7 release of Lightning.
