AlHark writes "Adobe Systems Incorporatedtoday announced that it intends to release the full Portable Document Format (PDF) 1.7 specification to AIIM, the Enterprise Content Management Association, for the purpose of publication by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Ifyou are wondering why Adobe is releasing PDF 1.7 to the ISO committee,I suspect it is becausemany governments are requiring standards based purchasing requirements and I imagine that Adobe wanted to become a de facto standard in how information was shared in an organization (well duh!)."

No amount of genius can overcome a preoccupation with detail.
