Submission + - EU Gets Browser Choice in March

mindwhip writes: As of 1st March EU users of XP, Vista and Windows 7 will be presented with the long awaited one time browser choice.

"Millions of people who have never really thought about which browser to use will now be forced to make a choice," said BBC technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones on his blog.
"That presents Microsoft's rivals with a unique marketing opportunity."

Is this choice really a good thing? It it a Marketing opportunity for Microsoft? Or will it just result in support headaches, for business, computer manufacturers and websites, when first time computer users select one of the less compatible browsers?

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.
