It looks neat, but it's just a color sorting machine? It doesn't actually put anything together.

VMware Releases Open Source Cloud Foundry 91

Julie188 writes "VMware shook the cloud world with an announcement that it was releasing an open source platform-as-a-service called Cloud Foundry. Not surprisingly, the new cloud platform takes direct aim at Microsoft's Azure and Google's Google Apps platforms. Cloud Foundry is made up of several technologies and products that VMware has acquired over the recent past and is released under an Apache 2 license. While VMware isn't the first-and-only player to launch an open source cloud initiative (Red Hat has DeltaCloud, Rackspace and Dell have OpenStack), some believe that with VMware now in the open source cloud business, pressure could be mounting for Microsoft and Google to release versions of their cloud that could be hosted somewhere other than their own data centers."

An anonymous reader writes "In news that could make many lonely tech savvy men have more of a spring in their steps is the launch of 'Cloud Girlfriend' which is a start up tech company based in California whose service is to match a user to his perfect match. The sad part is the relationship will only be internet based. Reported by Sara Yin of PC Mag, 'Cloud Girlfriend' will be free as David Fuhriman co-founder is quoted with saying 'We allow people to define their ideal self, find their perfect girlfriend or boyfriend and connect and interact as if that person existed. We will fulfill the 4 steps on the landing page, but not create any fake accounts.'"

They consider knowing the answer to everything ever with no limits one variable while numbers of gameplays more?

If anything this is exactly what a computer is designed to do, not fish through millions of facts and try to use them to answer a question which it may or may not even understand.

Ridiculous comparison.

Game theory is based on rules and statistics which is what a computer loves to crunch, random facts? Not so much.

Why not just make a mirror which is essentially a screen with a camera and have it do it real time so you can truly pretend you're someone you're not.

Ridiculous concept? Well according to data we've acquired, around XX percent of our mirror clients are not satisfied with the way their faces look in a mirror"

People need to take a long hard look at their self-images (no pun intended) if they even consider buying this camera.
