mercedo's Journal: Behold This Woman

General election was held yesterday and for two consecutive days I was watching TV. Liberal Democratic Party has got 296 seats of House of the Representatives and ruling two parties have got two-thirds of the House. Now ruling parties can pass all the laws they wish, because even if the bills are rejected in the Upper House, the bill is passed in the House again in 2/3rds of majority, the bill can pass.

Among many new members of Parliament, I found one very distinguished woman who has got the seat for the first time. She was born in 1961 (same as mine ) Her name is Yukari Sato. She is a economist. Entirely I can agree with her view. Interesting because economists got a seat.

And, she's not too hard on the eyes. Maybe a future star of Japanese politics?

In the Koizumi astonishing theatre, she is said to be picked as a minister in charge of financial affairs, which is less powerful than finance minister though.

I think she will soon occupy the important position in making a monetary policy of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.

I'm looking forward to hearing what she says in the next time.
