I am neither Republican nor Democrat. I am conservative but not neo-con. Government should be small and its function is simple: protect the borders and punish evildoers, and regulate trade with international trading partners. That's it. Government should not dictate morality unless my exercising my will infringes on your right to live or your right to keep your belongings, and vice-versa. Government should not be in the business of marriage because that is infringement of the freedom of worship, as marriage has always been a religious institution. I don't support gay marriage nor am I against it. In fact, I do not believe government has any legal basis to dictate who can marry whom, providing all involved are of legal age to enter into contracts. As a bisexual, I am just as likely to marry a woman as I am to marry a man. Government has no constitutional basis to tell me that I can only marry one but not the other.
